Creating PCB's

Has anybody had success using laserprinter transfer to create printed circuit board? I was considering giving it a shot, any wins/fails?

I tried some here and they came out just okay.. I used regular paper although high gloss paper is recommended.. That might have been my downfall.

I did just get this email the other day from Jameco: http://www.jameco.com/jameco/pressroom/ ... id=2921931

looks pretty interesting..

Thats awesome thanks!...I was checking out the exposure method and the vid I caught they guy modded a scanner with 6 UV bulbs to get the exposure to work...that kinda scared me off that method...the method on the page you linked looks much simpler.
To get the laserprinter method to work best you gotta use high gloss photo paper (I guess the gloss heats up to stick to the material) and adjust your printer settings so you're printing the darkest lines possible to get the most material on the paper...it works, but this method you showed me looks promising.
Thanks

Here's an option. http://www.pulsarprofx.com/PCBfx/main_s ... index.html

I have been working (during whatever little spare time I have) on my first test run on a fairly complicated 2 layer schematic with some VERY small components. Lately, been trying to tweek the traces, etc to carry the currents and controls without interference and voltage drop.

I'm tempted to just do a quick one for a simple circuit. But if I'm gonna do it, I thought I'd focus on a good one.

Also waiting on by dremel drill press attachment and still need to source some "through pins"/rivits for layer to layer connections (first option) - either that or some flat ribbon cable board connects for this routing as a second option -- or simply build a second story

Anyways, if ever I get there I'll post and update.

BTW - I'll be using a hydochloric acid/peroxide solution for the etch.

I use pre-sensitized boards and the exposure method. Print your layout on clear plastic with any inkjet printer, makes a positive instead of a negative. I have an exposure frame that holds the board and the positive tite together. I use a cheap flourscent lamp and prop it up on a couple books about 8 inches or so above exposure frame. Let it expose for 10 min, then develop the board. After that, drop it in the etchant tank and drill your holes out.

BTW: I usually get my circuit board supplies from web-tronics.
